Misty Mtn "Guess Who's Back" Release Recap

MOXI's most recent addition to the management roster - Brooklyn-based indie pop duo Misty Mtn - released their second single "Guess Who's Back" last week on Oct 16 with a slew of festivities to kick off the ongoing roll out for their debut EP, due in 2019.

Morissa Trunzo and Lucas Segall began collaborating under the moniker Misty Mtn in 2017 creating a sound they appropriately call “dark mountain pop" where they weave together Appalachian meets Icelandic aesthetic with Brooklyn beats as influenced by their western roots - Morissa having grown up singing at the rodeo in Montana and Lucas in indie bands in his hometown of Los Angeles.

The band's release week for "Guess Who's Back" kicked off with a press premiere via EARMILK where journalist Sean Kayden writes, "Bobbing and weaving somewhere between the likes of electro-pop and folk-pop, “Guess Who’s Back” flows with grace and tranquility. The twosome's unique assortment of sonic qualities of slick synths and dream-like melodies along with sharp writing occupied with its musings is something listeners should invest in early on."

They then partnered with local Brooklyn store owner & designer Michael Dinzebach to host a public release party at Antler and Woods where the band hung out with friends and fans and performed an in-store live set.

The party continued Thursday night at Soho House's Ludlow House where the band performed a full set and subsequently silenced the room full of industry types - a rare accomplishment for any band showcase.

Misty Mtn will perform again tomorrow night at BMI's acoustic lounge in New York at Rockwood Music Hall for a free acoustic set at 8pm and again in Nashville on November 26 at The Basement with Kat Saul.

More new music on it's way SOON. In the meantime, STREAM "Guess Who's Back" (co-produced by Ariel Loh) on repeat. It really is that good. We promise.
