Brooklyn synth pop duo Misty Mtn continues to make a splash heading towards the release of their debut EP in 2019. The band's most recent effort "We'll Call It Even" received press attention from Popdust, The Wild Honey Pie, iheartmoosiq, and The Deli, among others. The Deli notes, "This band’s consistently strong releases and imaginative sound leave little room for feelings other than anticipation for their upcoming material."
"We'll Call It Even" was also featured on Nashville's Acme Radio and featured on Spotify playlists such as Indie Happy Hour's Goon Squad, Indie Electronica, The Buzzing Daily, and Hype M.
To celebrate the single release, Misty Mtn played Rockwood Music Hall's main stage before heading to Nashville where they performed at The Basement as well as at Flamingo.
Further showing off their versatility, the band released their first official remix, re-imagining Chris Leamy's "Shoot To Thrill" taking the gritty rock anthem to a unique place of pop sensibility adding a smooth, almost whimsical mood to the record. In the same spirit, the band played a DJ set at New York's Public Hotel where they supported Richie Quake.
Needless to say, Misty Mtn is headed into 2019 full steam ahead as they march on towards the release of their debut EP.
The band's next show is January 9th at New York's Mercury Lounge where they will play alongside fellow MOXI artist Chris Leamy. Tickets available here!!
And last, but certainly not least, the band announces today a partnership with Leesta Vall Sound Recordings to cut one-of-a-kind vinyl recordings of singles "Greener," "Guess Who's Back," and "We'll Call It Even," during a live session on January 14th.
To purchase these recordings, fans must pre-order their selected song prior to the session.
Pre-order is available now here!!!
No two recordings are the same, and only one copy of each will be made. This vinyl is limited edition recorded on a modified antique record cutting lathe from the 1950's. Each record is handmade, one at a time, in real time, by a real person. Pretty cool!
Keep an eye on these two in the New Year ... lots more to come.
